The IT Project Manager will support technology projects or delivery teams by partnering closely with engineering, product, and program leaders to drive modern, iterative delivery practices. They will manage planning, dependencies, risks, releases, and status updates while ensuring effective prioritization and successful delivery. They will champion Fidelity leadership behaviors to foster an innovative, collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning & Coordination: Align project scope, objectives, and roadmaps with product, business, and technology strategy; manage multiple low-to-medium complexity projects or a high-visibility initiative, partnering with cross-functional leaders to plan work, identify risks and dependencies, coordinate releases, and maintain clear communication and documentation.

  • Execution & Delivery Management: Lead planning and execution events across projects, track and report delivery health using data-driven insights, facilitate trade-off decisions, drive accountability for outcomes, and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and communications to support successful delivery.

  • Continuous Improvement & Predictability: Implement and continuously improve delivery processes using data insights, optimize workflows for efficiency and flow, and identify lifecycle improvements to enhance predictability and outcomes.

  • Technology & Quality Oversight: Enforce engineering excellence by managing quality standards, technical debt, incidents, and change processes. Accountable for effective and integrated release management, ensuring readiness across teams, and clear communication.

  • Team Leadership & Culture: Motivate and guide teams by fostering a culture of ownership and accountability. Support team formation, training, and continuous improvement through feedback and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of overall work experience and 5 years’ experience working directly to plan and drive technology delivery outcomes, within a team or across multiple teams

  • Relevant proven experience and training/certification in delivery frameworks and methodologies (project management, iterative delivery, etc.)

  • Excellent facilitation, planning, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to lead through influence and drive cross-functional alignment

  • Strong experience with delivery metrics, forecasting, and capacity planning

  • Familiarity with scaled delivery practices and enterprise governance

  • PMP Certification a plus but not required

Please see the below pay rate range for the work location of Rhode Island only: $58.21-$98.21 per hour.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
