Software Engineer

The Fidelity Institutional Technology group at Fidelity Investments has an exceptional opportunity for a Software Engineer who is a self-starter, with Agile/Scrum based methodology experience working with modern web frameworks and tools including Angular, CSS3 and Spring Boot. You will be applying your strong development skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve FBT customer-facing software solutions and ensure we are building the right product the right way.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software engineering.
  • Experience with designing and building user experiences and webservice applications while incorporating test automation frameworks.
  • A strong foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Strong experience working with Angular, JavaSript, Java, HTML5, CSS3, XML, and UNIX
  • Strong experience with web services (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, etc.) and Spring Boot
  • Experience in AWS, CI/CD, ES6, React.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with high risks and high rewards
  • Knowledge in a breadth of development technologies and test automation frameworks (Java/J2EE, Junit, Playwright, Cucumber, Selenium, JavaScript/Angular, Karma, Spring, Web Services, REST, HTTP). Experience with integration and E2E testing for customer facing websites in a full stack (Angular, Java, SOAP, Rest, etc.) technology environment, including recent experience with Playwright.
  • Strong experience designing and developing web service (SOAP, Rest) test automation suites using tools like Bruno, Karate, Postman, Rest-assured, Insomnia, or similar
  • Experience testing enterprise applications deployed to both on-premise and cloud environments such as AWS
  • Experience developing and maintaining virtual services or mock API’s.
  • Experience designing and developing pipeline as code for continuous testing and integration using tools such as Jenkins/Jenkins Core and Artifactory
  • In a perfect world, you have working experience with BDD, the ability to collaborate, and familiarity with relational databases and some scripting language (Ruby, python, shell, etc.), and knowledge of equities market and trading of stock, options, and mutual funds
  • You understand technical designs at the application level, define strategies, and work closely with fellow developers. Additionally, you can describe problems and recommend solutions to project leaders
  • You have great communication skills, are a team player, and have an aptitude for learning new technologies. Analytical problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Your ability to manage time and meet deadlines for concurrent projects/assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coordinating functional/technical group discussions with analysts and developers
  • Delivering on both projects and support tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Developing concise and clear technical design documents based on analysis of business requirements
  • Working and collaborating with new technologies to solve test challenges and process improvements

Our web applications are used by Registered Investment Advisors and Correspondents to deliver comprehensive brokerage solutions to our client's institutional customers, including account opening, trading solutions, cashiering, reports and alerts, market data and research, modeling and rebalancing, and risk management and compliance tools.
