The Role
We are seeking a talented OS & HW Infrastructure Administrator to join our Compute management team. In this role, you will collaborate with senior technology professionals, peers across operations teams, and represent Compute Operations during incident calls. As a key member of the Reliability & Operations team, you will continuously evaluate opportunities for automation, improve observability, promote DevOps and EngOps practices, and ensure the stability and security of our environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate Windows, Linux & Virtualization operating systems

Oversee hypervisors and hardware infrastructure
-
Drive automation & observability initiatives and promote DevOps/EngOps work

Ensure security compliance and execute patching activities
-
Maintain environment stability and support critical server operations
-
Participate in incident management and change execution
-
Contribute to operational KPIs and metrics
-
Collaborate with global teams and vendors to resolve issues and implement solutions
-
Communicate effectively with engineering, operations leaders, and partners
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
-
5+ years of IT experience across a broad range of technologies, with a focus on server and storage infrastructure
-
Strong knowledge of Windows OS and/or Linux (RedHat / Ubuntu)
-
Disk storage management expertise, SAN/NAS/CAS infrastructure is a significant plus
-
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare or OLVM)
-
On-call coverage and incident management experience
-
Troubleshooting skills for OS, hardware, and performance issues

Scripting and AI proficiency
-
Experience of working with enterprise-level customers and application teams
-
Windows, VMware, and OLVM (Oracle Logical Volume Manager) experience is highly desirable
Additional Skills

Strong understanding of Agile methodology and IT Service Management

Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure tech stack: Linux, AIX, Windows, VMWare, OpenStack, HP, Dell

Experience with Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM)

Ability to identify gaps and drive process improvements
-
Collaboration with vendors (Redhat, HP, Dell, IBM) for root cause analysis and solution implementation

Passion for automation, self-service, and self-healing infrastructure
-
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
The Team
As an Infrastructure Reliability Engineer within Fidelity’s Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations team, you will function as the primary requirements and delivery support personnel for our compute platforms. You will collaborate closely with engineering & architecture teams to support solution design and implementation of high-quality automation for our Engineering and Operations teams.
This is a shift-based position: Tue–Sat or Sun–Thur (12:30-9:30 ET), occasional coverage on other days may be required.
