Java Engineer with Test Automation
The Role
Senior Java Engineer will be working in development and delivery of high quality, timely and maintainable software solutions and testing frameworks in an agile environment which meet functional and non-functional business requirements. This role will involve partner & stakeholder engagement, design and release support.
Required Skills & Experience

6+ years of software development experience.
-
Strong hands-on experience in Java application development.
-
Experience developing end-to-end functional automation test cases using Playwright with Java.

Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred).

Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline integration.

Experience working and integrating with Xray (Jira Test Management) for test planning, execution, and reporting.

Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and quality engineering practices.

Ability to work independently with minimal direction and drive solutions from analysis through implementation.

Experience performing complex technical and functional analysis, design, development, and testing activities.

Knowledge of application architecture principles and participation in design/architecture reviews.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
-
Exposure to Trading / Order Management Systems (OMS) / Financial Services domain is a plus but not mandatory.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Familiarity with test automation frameworks, API testing, and integration testing.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design, develop, and maintain automated functional test frameworks and test suites using Playwright and Java.
-
Build and implement end-to-end test scenarios across web applications.

Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.

Manage test execution, defect tracking, and reporting through Xray/Jira.

Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business parties to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

Participate in architecture and design discussions and work towards innovative technical solutions.

Support all testing phases, including system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and procedures.

Enhance process improvements and automation enhancements.

Participate in production/application support and on-call rotation as required.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $83.00-$123.00 per hour.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
