Security Officer

The Role
This is not a typical “security guard” position, and no prior security or law enforcement experience is required. We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated, customer focused, results-oriented, and who possess exceptional critical thinking, oral and written communication skills. We will train you to actively patrol and respond to breaches and other threats against the firm, as well as acting as a first responder in emergency situations.
This position will provide you additional opportunities to learn about business groups throughout Fidelity. If desired, you will have exposure to the various career paths available within the company, all while gaining marketable security and life safety experience.
Specific onboarding and ongoing security training provided.
Please note: Hiring for this position is contingent upon successful completion of a thorough background check, including criminal, credit and education history, work experience/references, and a drug screen.

2 month rotations between days and nights

Shifts are 12 hours (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am)

Weekly schedule is 48 hours one week, 36 the next
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
-
Ability to deliver premium experiences when interacting with visitors, vendors, associates, and customers while assisting in the implementing/adherence of all company standards and policies.

Ability to spend periods of time walking or standing at a fixed post.

Ability to perform first-responder rescue activities involved with medical, security or other life safety emergency situations.

Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR and basic physical security techniques/principles, or the ability to acquire such knowledge through provided training.

Demonstrate poise under stress and is able to advise others during a medical, security or other life safety related incident.

Basic computer proficiency.

Strong analytical skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Availability to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, or weekends).

Some college preferred; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience a plus.
The Team
At Fidelity, our greatest asset is our associates and as a Security Officer, you will play an important role in helping ensure the safety and security of Fidelity Investments’ associates and facilities. In this role, you will represent Global Security Operations while providing exceptional customer service impacting the culture and community across Fidelity. You will work with a team of security professionals and site security management on day-to-day safety and security issues and when required, local public safety (law enforcement, fire, other governmental) agencies.
