The Role
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for our Health and Welfare benefits platform. This role bridges traditional Software Engineering with data engineering, ensuring high-quality, scalable data pipelines that support advanced analytics.
As part of the Inbounds Team, this role is crucial in managing all incoming data for our Health & Welfare (H&W) clients. Responsibilities include setting up inbound files from clients and vendors, ensuring seamless integration into the H&W platform, and maintaining data integrity throughout the process.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing scalable ETL/ELT processes, ensuring high-quality data pipelines.
- Setting up Inbound files from the clients and vendors on the H&W platform
- Building and optimizing data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data, maintaining data quality and availability for AI models.
- Developing and managing solutions on cloud-based data platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to prepare datasets for training and inference, successfully implementing models into production environments.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Education
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, AI, or a related field.
Experience
- 2–7 years of experience in Software development, data engineering, preferably with benefits platform experience.
Technical Skills
- Proven experience in middle-tier application development using Java, Python, or similar technologies
- Strong experience in database design and development with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar databases
- Hands-on experience in modern UI development using Angular or comparable frameworks
- Hands-on experience leveraging GenAI code-assist tools (e.g., Copilot) and implementing spec-driven development approaches to improve development efficiency and consistency.
- Experience in Snaplogic /Informatica or similar File management Techniques
- Ability to study, understand, edit and cleanse data feeds in a structured & unstructured format.
- Strong experience in designing and building highly scalable distributed systems using open-source technologies, with a focus on batch processing frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of E2E ALM tools like JIRA, Git, Jenkins, and uDeploy.
- Working knowledge of public/private cloud capabilities including compute, storage and scaling will be desirable.
