Plan Documentation Specialist

The Role

The Plan Document Specialist ('PDS') owns the collection, review, setup and audit of client documents for the transfer of Defined Contribution Plans onto the Pre-Approved recordkeeping platform. The PDS is proficient in reviewing plan documents, amendments, asset statements, source statements, and prior 5500 filings. The PDS also assembles Adoption Agreements, drafts Service Agreements, updates fund investments, creates Greenlight templates and audits the Plan setup in Product Central. The PDS works directly with Sales, Implementation, Prior Recordkeepers, Third Party Administrators, Advisors, and our prospective clients. The PDS must be technically sound in their understanding of the 401(k) plan documents, while also being able to explain those requirements to clients and internal business partners with varying degrees of backgrounds and expertise on the topic.

The Expertise and Skills you Bring

Possess a proficient understanding of Pre-Approved Plan documents
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment & handle large volume of work in a timely manner
Ability to articulate a point of view in a compelling & succinct manner
Possess the ability to comprehend and explain technical concepts
Strong understanding of ERISA and regulatory issues especially related to 401(k) plans
Requires 3-5 years of DC retirement plan experience
College Degree or equivalent experience

The Team

As part of the Implementation group within Workplace Investing, the PDS plays a critical role in collecting and reviewing prior plan documents and drafting and auditing Fidelity’s plan document. We work closely with Plan Consultants and Project Managers. We are an extension of the 401k Sales process and the Implementation team. We have a strong focus on customer service skills to ensure clients feel reassured in their decision to move their 401k benefits to Fidelity.
