Product Manager

As a Product Manager, you blend financial services expertise with an understanding of bringing new features to market. You champion and prioritize platform improvements that advance our digital offerings for Fidelity Philanthropic Services customers. This position requires you to function as a strategic extension of the Business Product Leader team. Additionally, you partner with colleagues across Architecture, Analysis, UXD, Engineering, as well as Project/Program Management to bring ideas from conception to reality. In this role you drive requirements, help articulate a strong vision the product offering, and work with technology and operations associates to shepherd changes through our end-to-end delivery model.

The Role

Product Managers play a critical role within Fidelity Philanthropic Services’ digital ecosystem, directly impacting the features and experiences that donors, advisors, and operations representatives encounter every day. As a Product Manager, you will lead requirements definition, feature prioritization, and business analysis across one of our core capability areas. Partnering closely with your Business Product Leader, you will have significant impact over the backlog of future priorities, as well as review and validation of new features before they are released.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

STRATEGY

  • Support product opportunity ideation by organizing and participating in customer research, market analysis, and competitor assessment
  • Develop feature / capability strategy in alignment with product strategy, including target outcomes & indicators, strategic (high-level) roadmap items, and socialization & refinement of ideas
  • Influence business case development in partnership with finance, product strategy partners, and other working team members to explore cost/benefit drivers, and incorporate high level architectural approach and engineering execution estimates into the analysis
  • Validate new product opportunity ideas by building prototypes and conducting experiments to test hypotheses

Planning & prioritization

  • Lead feature / capability level roadmap, including tradeoffs, and ensure product roadmap reflects prioritization
  • Align features / capabilities across initiatives, programs, and tech roadmaps
  • Develop use cases for end-to-end experiences for customers and associates
  • Conduct customer and organizational needs assessment to develop product/feature requirements, and define acceptance criteria for backlog items
  • Engage partners to build out use cases and understand business/regulatory nuances
  • Run new work requests through intake process and ensure data is collected for decisioning
  • Support governance routines with LRC, interested parties, and other product related forums

Execution

  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to refine product backlog items and translate into engineering solutions
  • Engage with delivery teams in backlog refinement, planning sessions, and product / solution reviews to provide feedback and clarity
  • Review and accept product changes

Launch & monitor

  • Support product launches including finalized eReview documentation, clarity on rollout / contingency plans for rollback, and criteria for business readiness assessment for a go/no go decision
  • Develop and support organizational change activities and communications for launch
  • Conduct regular feature / capability / experience reviews inclusive of outcome realization, product performance, critical metric progress / trends, growth, ops, servicing, cost/benefit analysis, customer and associate feedback, and business results
  • Continuously assess product market fit, monitor usage and adoption, and address the needs of customers and the internal and/or external market
  • Support the product lifecycle (launch through decommission) including customer experience and product performance, growth, rationalization, simplification, optimization, and reuse of core & common capabilities based on product, market, customer, and business data and feedback
  • Evaluate change impacts to service model and recommend solutions to ensure operational efficiency is maintained
