Role Summary
The Salesforce Engineer plays a critical role in designing, developing, and supporting Salesforce solutions across multiple environments. This position is responsible for driving end-to-end release and deployment processes, ensuring smooth, consistent, and reliable delivery cycles. The role emphasizes hands-on development within the Salesforce platform, including working with metadata, managing version control, conducting peer code reviews, and maintaining deployment pipelines. A strong understanding of Salesforce architecture and best practices is essential to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions. This role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement in development and release processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, Manage and Execute Salesforce deployments across development, QA, UAT, staging, and production environments.
- Maintain and Support Git-based version control, including branching and merging.
- Conduct peer reviews of Salesforce metadata changes and pull requests to ensure quality and standards.
- Validate Apex tests, code coverage, and deployment readiness.
- Troubleshoot deployment failures, metadata conflicts, and environment differences.
- Support sandbox refreshes, environment alignment, and data preparation.
- Collaborate with developers, admins, QA, and release teams to coordinate and plan deployments.
- Document deployment procedures, release steps, and environment configurations.
- Ensure release activities follow internal controls and audit requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce metadata (Apex, LWC, Flows, Custom Objects, Permission Sets)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of deployment processes and release management practices.
- Up to 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, or Salesforce deployment roles.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce metadata (Apex, LWC, Flows, Custom Objects, Permission Sets)
- Practical knowledge and experience of Salesforce developments and deployments
- Practical experience using Git for version control.
- Experience performing peer reviews within a development or release workflow.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve test coverage issues, deployment and metadata issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience with Flosum (deployments, pipelines, org comparisons).
- Exposure to code quality tools (PMD, ESLint, SonarQube).
- Experience with CRM Analytics development/deployment is a plus.

Please see the below pay rate range for the work location of Rhode Island only: $60.00-70.00 per hour.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
