Software Engineer in Test

The Role

This individual will be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of test scenarios, implementing automation strategy (when applicable), and contributing to the test effort as a member of an agile team across various development projects.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring (The order of these bullets does not matter)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience
  • Proficiency or proven ability to learn professional software development skills and practices Examples include: Coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, design patterns, Object- Oriented Design and Development, Software design principles.
  • Experience with test automation tools e.g. Jest / Playwright
  • Web Services testing experience, preferably with Bruno or Postman
  • BDD experience or familiarity – Gherkin experience is a plus
  • Experience with Authorization e.g. RBAC and ABAC, is a plus
  • Experience with Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Rego, is a plus
  • Experience with agile methodology and tool sets (JIRA)
  • Ability to work effectively on a multi-regional team
  • Strong technical skills such as SQL, XML, HTML, JavaScript, Java, AWS
  • Ability to read and enhance scripts and code
  • Solid understanding of the software development process including planning, analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, and problem resolution
  • Have the ability to contribute to the Test Pyramid definition for our product
  • Participate in understanding and refinement of User Stories, QA related tasks and test cases, and functional automation
  • Participate in product demos at iteration reviews
  • Log defects/issues and work with team members to ensure resolution
  • Participate in defect triage
  • Participate in production release deployment verification on a regular cadence

The Team

As part of the Advanced Process Solutions division within Fidelity Investments, you will join a Scrum team of 8-10 highly motivated individuals tasked with re-imagining and delivering the next generation of authorization for Fidelity’s internal tools.
